How to manage comments

Comments are active in blogs in order to share one’s experiences/opinions on the subject treated. Discussions can thus take place in order to expand on an article. Or to give one’s point of view, a complementary analysis or many more reasons. The main disadvantage is of course the need to filter the comments before publication. You should use a good anti-spam software as well as a compulsory manual verification step. This in order to avoid comments aiming at obtaining a backlink to any site with a comment generated by a script. Here are some pointers on how to manage comments.

You should comment, too

Comments on your page boost your positioning, as we have seen. But you too should leave a few well-calibrated comments on blog posts, forums, discussion groups, etc. Google is not the only one who might be interested in your reaction. People read the comments left by their peers, and if they don’t always react, they are likely to click on a link left by another reader. Your comment should be constructive, relevant, and useful. The idea is not to advertise your own site for free, but to add something to the discussion and link to a related page.

Reviews

The reviews will be those of the products and will therefore concern the e-commerce sites. Generally the owners of e-commerce sites do not like to give the possibility of leaving a product review which is a mistake according to me for a simple reason: the brand does not want to be totally transparent about its products / services and therefore does not gain trust from users. The main disadvantage this time is that you will not necessarily have control over these reviews.

Nurture loyalty

Responding to customer concerns and positive feedback on online review platforms is a great way to build customer loyalty and create or strengthen an emotional connection between your customers and your brand.  Brands should also consider customer reviews as a way to refine their marketing strategy and improve their services/products. Online reviews are a direct line of communication with your customers, and it should not be underestimated. 

When learning how to manage comments, remember: an article has more value if it is commented many times but also these comments play a role on the actuality of the article.
